My Faith

The first thing anybody needs to know about me is I am a child of God.  I have been saved by the Son, Jesus Christ, and my soul is safe for eternity.  God is number one on my list.  He is the only reason I am, was, or will be. I want to spread this to as many people as I can.

The Baptist doctrine is closest to my own.  However, I don't know how much I believe in Christian denomination.  I agree with those that say denominations separate God's people.  I find it hard to believe that God intended this.  God is love. I believe in love.

I believe that every person should be able to pray, fellowship and worship in whatever way they feel is right.  I believe that every person's walk with their God is just that: their walk.  I will encourage every person to become a Christian, because I believe it's right.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, for whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16

Being a Christian in this time isn't easy.  In fact, it's the hardest thing I do on a daily basis.  For me, being a Christian has instilled a natural set of morals.  A sort of mental checks and balances. This makes life more challenging and meaningful; every thought, and every decision, is a choice of good versus bad.  Because I'm a Christian, the devil pulls hard at me.  Every minute of every day, I am tempted by Satan. We all are.  It's as if I can see his villainous smirk with every temptation.  But, there's a problem, and he knows it.  He's defeated.  His efforts are futile.  He hears me pray, and feels the same fear that he inflicts.

Being a Christian makes my life beautiful.

You see, my God has already won the battle.  My God and His people are the victors, and God holds the glory.

This blog is not a crusade of Christianity, but you must know that I have every intention of using this experience to grow spiritually.  The person I am today is looking to use every life experience as a learning tool for Christianity, and this blog is no different.  Some of my posts may suggest differently.  I am human.  I will always make mistakes.  I thank God for my trials, for it's by fire that steel is forged.

I thank God for my life, my salvation, and His grace.  For it's by God's grace, I am saved.

First Blog

And, here we are.  A random Saturday night, laying in bed with my awesomely pregnant wife, and blogging. This has been a long time coming, and I'm excited to be here. So, that leads me to my first topic:

My life today.  Today, I am a 31-year old, born again Christian with a beautiful wife, beautiful daughter, and a son that will be here in less than a month.  Most lately, I have been trying to figure out the medium between devout Christianity and the spoils this carnal world offers.  It's here.  Somewhere, a man can live a respectable Christian life and enjoy the purer side of temptation(s) and prosperity.  It's the most exciting time in my life, and I'm enjoying the path reveal.  God is good.  All the time.  And all the time, God is good.

God has blessed me with the most beautiful person that I call my best friend.  My wife entered my life at the right moment.  "Love at first sight" is a cheesy, inaccurate statement.  But, I will say that the first second I saw her, I knew she was special and I knew the connection.  Love on first date is the honest truth.  I knew by the third time I saw her that she'd be my wife and we'd grow old together.  We're perfect for each other.  Dating. Marriage.  Parenthood.  All future post topics.  Stay tuned.

My daughter(pictured below) changed the lives of many folks around her, starting with me.  She instantly made me a better person and Christian, and I wake up everyday to live for her.  My son is unborn, but not for long.  He's a monster in his mamma's belly, and I would guess he'll be here within 2 weeks.  Having children is amazing, and my wife and I were made for it.

My carnal interests start with sports and music.  Yes, I fit the stereotype.  I'm the ultimate sports fanatic.  No, I'm not.  I'm a sports freak.  To limit the description to fanatic, is to say the fiscal cliff resolution was a success.  I went there, and I may again, but that's not my specialty.  Nor do I want it to be.  My musical roots start with my father's influences and style.  After that, it's not really explainable.  Eclectic is close.  Yea, my musical taste is eclectic.

I hope when you read this, I have fulfilled my new-found desire to engage, inspire and build.  I hope we're working to better the lives of others, and know that I am doing it all for God.  I will never be perfect at this, but I sure hope my intentions are known and I've moved further down this path.

All for now,

Brandon
